Early Life and Career

Nancy Cartwright was born in Dayton, Ohio, but grew up in the nearby town of Kettering. She briefly attended Ohio University, but in 1978 transfered to UCLA. This was because she had been working at a local radio station, and Daws Butler had discovered her talent. After the move, she met many of the Hanna-Barbera producers and actors, including Gordon Hunt, who asked her to audition for the role of Gloria in Richie Rich. However, she also began a regular acting career, mostly playing one time roles in sitcoms and title characters in TV movies.

Personal Life

Cartwright was married to Warren Murphy from 1988 to 2002, and together they have two children, Jack and Lucy. She was raised a Roman Catholic, but in the 90s converted to Scientology and frequently contributes to the church.
